Ali’s Friday Cleanup @ Arcade Creek Park

    08:30 -11:30
    2025.08.01

Hosted by River City Waterway Alliance

    4925 Cameron Ranch Drive

    8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Please join Ali for this MAINTENANCE MODE cleanup of Arcade Creek along the Jo Smith Nature Trail – Ali’s original adopted section! We will continue to partner with Arcade Creek – Adopt A Creek Project to focus on another infamously trashed stretch of this 18-plus mile creek.

We plan to park on Cameron Ranch Drive then drop into the dry creekbed directly under the Garfield Bridge and work upstream towards Madison Avenue. When parking, please give plenty of clearance for driveways and trash bins.

There could be some water in the creek in a few sections. Participants will be required to wear rain boots or waders if they intend to get into the water.

Arcade Creek Cleanup @ Norwood (101.0)

    08:30 -11:30
    2025.08.02

Hosted by River City Waterway Alliance

3270 Norwood Avenue (closest address, but meet at Northeast gate)

    8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

*** Please meet on top of the levee near the NORTHEAST gate as we will caravan to the cleanup location. In order to get through the gate with the group, please make sure you arrive PRIOR to 8:30 a.m.

We will continue removing the piles of trash in this stretch of Arcade Creek in this area. Sturdy boots, long sleeves and long pants are recommended due to thorns and stickers on the vegetation. This will be an easy to difficult level event with uneven terrain.

This event is not suitable for minors under 14 years old.  All minors must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult during the entire event.

Arcade Creek Cleanup at Sacramento Horsemen’s Association

    08:30 -11:30
    2025.08.03

Hosted by River City Waterway Alliance

    3200 Longview Drive, Sacramento

    8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

The meeting spot for this event is the Sacramento Horsemen’s Association at 3200 Longview Dr.  Please proceed through the grounds and park in the pasture/field just west of the stables and arena.

As we continue to “connect the dots” in upper Arcade Creek within the City’s Del Paso Regional Park, we will start directly behind the west arena and proceed upstream past the SHA grounds. While we covered this stretch during our amazingly successful Earth Day events the past 2 years, the creek is now dry, allowing us to really scour the bottom.

This area is full of natural filters that have stopped a substantial amount of trash from being swept downstream and into the Delta and beyond. But that leaves a lot of cleanup work to rid this beautiful parkway of the resulting debris fields of trash.  This event will range in difficulty from easy to difficult, with some pretty easy pickins’ around the flat grassy parkway.

This event is not suitable for minors under 12 years old. Minors older than 12 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult during the entire event.

If you plan to attend, please register with the City at: https://forms.office.com/g/4Tgh0UgXqk?origin=lprLink
