Steelhead Creek Cleanup at The Grove

    08:30 -11:30
    2025.07.30

Hosted by River City Waterway Alliance

    2170 Acoma Street

    8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

We will continue our attack on trash and debris lining the bed of Steelhead Creek, both new and old, as we work upstream from the Arden-Garden bridge in the direction of the scores of illegal camps along the banks upstream of the West El Camino bridge.

We will meet on Acoma Street. At 8:30 am SHARP, we will caravan to the cleanup site. Late comers will not be accommodated. Folks that might need to leave early are welcome.

There will be plenty of hard-core badgering (digging out the big stuff), but also lots of easy detail work along the flat floodplain above the creek. As there is water in the creek and side channel, participants will be required to wear rain boots or waders if they intend to get into the water.

This event is not suitable for minors under 14 years old.  All minors must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult during the entire event.

American River Cleanup @ The Pipe Bridge

    08:30 -11:30
    2025.07.31

Hosted by River City Waterway Alliance

    1633 Dreher Street

    8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Due to a concerted effort by RCWA volunteers and Sacramento County Regional Parks, all the heaping piles of trash along the Sacramento Northern Bikeway Trail Bridge (the Pipe Bridge) are quickly vanishing! Nevertheless, there are still a few trashy spots left so we are headed back.

We will focus on the steep, rocky river banks, where no one else will go. There will also be plenty of easy trash nearby for those not able to brave the steep banks. There should be something for everyone.  Sturdy footwear, long pants and long-sleeve shirts are highly recommended. This will be a difficult level event with a moderate walk.

We have permission to park on top of the levee. At 8:15 am, we will form a caravan starting at 1633 Dreher Street (located off North 16th Street just before Capitol Casino) and drive in together. The gate will be closed and locked at 8:30 am sharp, so please be early.

This event is not suitable for minors under 14 years old. Minors older than 14 must be supervised by a responsible adult during the entire event.

Hosted by River City Waterway Alliance

    4925 Cameron Ranch Drive

    8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Please join Ali for this MAINTENANCE MODE cleanup of Arcade Creek along the Jo Smith Nature Trail – Ali’s original adopted section! We will continue to partner with Arcade Creek – Adopt A Creek Project to focus on another infamously trashed stretch of this 18-plus mile creek.

We plan to park on Cameron Ranch Drive then drop into the dry creekbed directly under the Garfield Bridge and work upstream towards Madison Avenue. When parking, please give plenty of clearance for driveways and trash bins.

There could be some water in the creek in a few sections. Participants will be required to wear rain boots or waders if they intend to get into the water.
