| 22 09:00 -12:00 2024.11.22 Please join Ali for this cleanup of Brooktree Creek, a major source of encampment trash and debris that we find in upper stretches of Arcade Creek. We will continue to partner with Arcade Creek – Adopt A Creek Project. AGE LIMIT: This event is not suitable for minors under 14 years old. Minors older than 14 are invited, but must be supervised by a responsible adult during the entire event. Please bring water and only do what you are comfortable doing. As always, you can leave whenever you want or need. This cleanup location has some challenging access spots into the creek and may require a rope to get into the channel, however, there are some flat spots as well for easy pickings. There will be water in the creek, therefore, hip and/or chest waders are recommended. There will be hauling involved in the event you don’t have waders, so please come out and lend a hand regardless. We will provide bags, but please bring along your sturdy waterproof footwear, grabbers, buckets, and gloves – a limited number of loaner buckets and grabbers may be available. If you have a cultivator or shovel, those will also be handy. There will be water in the creek. Participants will be required to wear rain boots or waders if they intend to get into the water, if any. Entry into any waters is always optional. As with all events shared on our Page, participation is performed solely at your own risk. Please place safety FIRST and do only what you feel comfortable doing. Moreover, participants will be required to sign a Release and Waiver form if they have not done so previously. Overall, be safe, have fun and get some “Exercise with a Purpose”!, as Bill Templin says. 24 09:00 -12:00 2024.11.24 We will be returning to Copper Creek for another much-needed cleanup. This tributary flows, unabated, into Arcade Creek and is filled with trash that lines the bottom of the channel, polluting waterways downstream. We plan to clean the north side of this area, above Garfield Ave. The area is a dry oak grove and grassy area that has several active and abandoned encampments. Lots of loose trash and bulk times in this location. Boots are recommended and waders will not be needed for this cleanup. Please park in the Quiznos parking lot on the southeast corner of Greenback Lane & Garfield Avenue. We will gather our items and cross the street at the light. AGE LIMIT: This event is not suitable for minors under 14 years old. Minors older than 14 are invited, but must be supervised by a responsible adult during the entire event. Please bring water and only do what you are comfortable doing. As always, you can leave whenever you want or need. This cleanup location has easy access and many flat spots for easy pickings. Due to heavy rain forecasted over the next week/weekend, we are postponing our first salmon survey of the season by one week to November 30. We will monitor the forecast and confirm the survey date next week. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please meet in the back of the parking lot of the Regal UA Olympus Pointe Movie Theatre in Roseville (aka Miner’s Ravine Trailhead). Untrained volunteers will be placed into a group with a trained volunteer. Groups will walk/wade upstream along a section of the Dry Creek watershed, roughly 1-2 miles each. Volunteers should have their own waders (chest-high), although we do have loaners available upon pre-request. Young people, ages 13 to 17, are welcome but must be accompanied by a legal guardian and all volunteers will need to sign a waiver form.
