American River Cleanup @ Discovery Park

    09:00 -12:00
    2025.05.08

    Location- Discovery Park Archery Range

Discovery Park needs our love again!  After 34 amazing events, we left this entire area RCWA CLEAN last December. But now, it’s trashed again and many of the wooded sections are littered and in need of care. Let’s show up and give this place the love it deserves – again.

We’ll meet at the Discovery Park Archery Range parking lot and hike to the cleanup areas, focusing on the shady wooded sections. SacCounty Parks has already come through with their bobcat and removed a couple large abandoned camps, leaving lots of scattered debris behind.  Free parking passes will be available.

Ali’s Friday Arcade Creek Cleanup at Del Paso Regional Park (94.0)

    09:00 -12:00
    2025.05.09

    Location-4200 Park Road

Please join Ali and crew as we visit Arcade Creek for our 2nd Post-Winter Maintenance Mode (MM) event at this beautiful 1-mile stretch of Del Paso Regional Park. Amazingly, last week we covered .4 miles with only 9 badgers. With a full crew expected for the next cleanup, it is very likely we will cover the remaining .6 miles. Imagine that, covering 1 full mile of Arcade Creek in just 2 events in an area that initially required 61 cleanups to reach MM!

We will continue to partner with Arcade Creek – Adopt A Creek Project and Sacramento Area Creeks Council to focus on this 1-mile stretch of this 17.5 mile creek (between the Capital City Freeway and Auburn Blvd, near Winding Way).

We will meet at Park Road near Auburn Blvd, then retreat downstream to the spot we stopped last week, then work upstream as far as we can get. Please arrive on time as the route to our meeting spot could be confusing.

This cleanup will have some challenging access spots into the creek and may require a rope to get into the channel, however, there are some flat spots as well for easy pickin’.   The event will range in difficulty from moderate to hard and may not be suitable for children under the age of 14. Minors must be supervised by a responsible adult the entire event.
