River City Waterway Alliance - Arcade Creek Cleanup at Norwood (26.0)

    08:30 -11:30
    2024.07.21
**** Please note new parking location, however, please meet up top on the levee near the southwest gate as we will be caravaning to the cleanup location *** In order to get through the gate with the group, please make sure you arrive prior to 8:30 a.m.
Our apologies, but this will be an 18 and Over Event due to numerous active encampments in the area.
We will continue removing the piles of trash in this stretch of Arcade Creek in this area. This event will be conducted in coordination with our friends at Forensiclean who have graciously agreed to haul off all of the trash and encampment debris collected during this event!
Sturdy, waterproof boots, long sleeves and long pants are recommended. Folks desiring to enter the creek will need hip or chest waders. This will be an easy to difficult level event with uneven terrain.
RCWA will provide bags, but please bring along your grabbers, buckets, cultivators, rakes and gloves – a limited number of loaner buckets and grabbers may be available.
As with all events shared on RCWA, participation is performed solely at your own risk. Please place safety FIRST and do only what you feel comfortable doing. Moreover, participants will be required to sign a Release and Waiver form if they have not done so previously.
Overall, be safe, have fun and get some “Exercise with a Purpose” as Bill Templin says.
    Thank you!

River City Waterway Alliance - American River Cleanup at Woodlake

    08:00 -11:30
    2024.07.25
This portion of the Woodlake section of the American River Parkway is undergoing a huge facelift. Camps have been removed and large debris has been removed by County Parks. However, this area is once again in need of RCWA volunteer love.
We will meet up at the parkway gate at the Northgate off-ramp from Highway 160 (eastbound). We will drive to a nearby parking area. The gate will be closed, so be sure to be there before 8 am. The area is mostly flat with easy access.
RCWA will provide bags, but please bring along your grabbers, buckets, and gloves – a limited number of loaner buckets and grabbers may be available.
As with all events shared on RCWA, participation is performed solely at your own risk. Please place safety FIRST and do only what you feel comfortable doing. Moreover, participants will be required to sign a Release and Waiver form if they have not done so previously.
