River City Waterway Alliance - American River Cleanup at Township 9 (26.0)

    08:30 -11:30
    2024.07.20
The American River is lower than our last visit there in February, exposing previously inaccessible trash along the banks. Thus, this is the perfect time for a Township 9 “Mop-Up”.
Waterproof footwear might be very helpful. This will be an easy to difficult level event with a moderate walk. There may be walking up and down the levee bank, depending on where the trash is located. Choose whatever activity you desire.
RCWA will provide bags, but please bring along your sturdy footwear, grabbers, buckets, and gloves – a limited number of loaner buckets and grabbers may be available. Participants will be required to wear rain boots or waders if they intend to get into the water. Entry into any waters is always optional.
As with all events shared on RCWA, participation is performed solely at your own risk. Please place safety FIRST and do only what you feel comfortable doing. Moreover, participants will be required to sign a Release and Waiver form if they have not done so previously.
Overall, be safe, have fun and get some “Exercise with a Purpose” as Bill Templin says.
    Thank you!

Elk Grove Anti-Trash - Miwok Park - Longleaf/ Big Horn Cleanup

    09:00 -10:45
    2024.07.20

EGAT typically schedules cleanups on the first and third Saturdays of the month. Given this is the third Saturday of the month, here we go!
Join us for a neighborhood cleanup along the trail that parallels LongleafDrive, and hit the areas nearby. We will try to get to Big Horn Blvd., Miwok Park, and possibly the Elk Grove Creek Trail close by.
    Also bring your appetites!
Miwok Park will be the location for EGPD‘s, barbecue in the beat!
Best place to park if it is available are the state office building parking lots near 8220 Longleaf Dr.
If those lots are not available, please park along the street or at the theaters.
Elk Grove is worth the work!
New to cleanups? Please arrive early to get signed in and get gear. If you have supplies, please bring your own gloves, buckets, bags, but we have items for you. Buckets, gloves, grabbers, vests, bags.
Please wear appropriate clothing, boots   or closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, hats, and bring your own water.
All cleanups are done at your own risk, but safety first! Our trash safety talk starts promptly at 9:00 am.
    See you soon!!
    Let’s Clean Elk Grove together!
