Elk Grove Anti-Trash - Backer Park & Bilby

    09:00 -11:00
    2024.02.17
Weather permitting, join us for another varied cleanup, starting at Backer Park, with hopes of hitting Carroll Elementary, Bilby Road, and drainage ditches wherever we can find them.
We hope to hit all the side streets, Landscaping, you name it, there will be a little bit of everything for everyone.
It has been well over a year since we have been in this area, and it certainly deserves our attention.
Please stay tuned to this event page as we watch the weather forecast.
New to cleanups? Please arrive early to get signed in and get gear. If you have supplies, please bring your own gloves, buckets, bags, but we have items for you. Buckets, gloves, grabbers, vests, bags.
Please wear appropriate clothing, boots   or closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, hats, and bring your own water.
All cleanups are done at your own risk, but safety first! Our trash safety talk starts promptly at 9:00 am.
    See you soon!!

    RCWA - Steelhead Creek Cleanup

    09:00 -12:00
    2024.02.17
With recent high waters now receding, we will return to this area
next to Steelhead Creek to remove soaked and muddy trash and debris the campers did not move out of harm’s way when the creek was rising 2 weeks ago.
We will meet on Acoma Street and caravan into the cleanup spot. Thus, it is imperative that folks arrive on time.
Sturdy, waterproof boots and long sleeves and long pants are recommended. This will be an easy to difficult level event with uneven terrain.
RCWA will provide bags, but please bring along your grabbers, buckets, and gloves – a limited number of loaner buckets and grabbers may be available.
As with all events shared on RCWA, participation is performed solely at your own risk. Please place safety FIRST and do only what you feel comfortable doing. Moreover, participants will be required to sign a Release and Waiver form if they have not done so previously.
Overall, be safe, have fun and get some “Exercise with a Purpose” as Bill Templin says.
    Thank you!
