Sacramento Picks It Up - Orangevale/Fair Oaks Big Day of Service
Location: Throughout Fair Oaks
Time: 7:30 a.m.
Difficulty Level: 1 – 2The Orangevale/Fair Oaks Big Day of Service is looking for volunteers for the 40+ projects scheduled for May 6th. Some of the projects are cleaning up Pecan Park and redoing the landscape at the Fair Oaks Post Office. There will be a street clean up in Orangevale and work on a number of the parks and schools in the community.

After the work is done, people are invited back for a post project celebration.

Urban & Community IPM Webinar Series - Birds: Friends or Foes?
Birds are sometimes considered pests around homes, buildings, and in gardens, but they can also help to control other pests. This webinar will cover pest bird biology, identification, monitoring, and common types of damage; in addition to predatory birds and ways to enhance their control of pests.
This presentation will be given by Breanna Martinico, Human-Wildlife Interactions Advisor, Napa, Lake, and Solano counties.

Calling all nature lovers, Camp Pollock’s gardens are open for you to enjoy! Join SVC staff and docents for a brief photo slideshow of common Camp Pollock pollinators followed by an in field photo tutorial on how to get a great shot!
